Description:

The Education Support Volunteer program at Bethany Children’s Health Center offers volunteers the opportunity to assist teachers and patients in each of the Hospital’s six special education classrooms. Volunteers support the work of the Hospital’s staff and provide companionship, friendship and encouragement to patients.

 

Classroom volunteers also may serve as Patient Companions, spending one-on-one time with patients at bedside within the Complex Care & Tower. 

Volunteer - Time Commitment:

Volunteers are expected to serve one two-hour shift per week. Shifts are scheduled between the hours of or needs of education staff:

Monday through Friday; 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 2:00-4:00 p.m.

Volunteers in this role must be at least 17 years old and commit to serving one two-hour shift each week for a 15-week period.
